Non-Toxic Baby’s First Aid

When people ask me what my must-haves are for a baby registry, I always include items for an all-natural medicine cabinet. As a society we’ve normalized rushing to design the “perfect” nursery (guilty) that your baby likely won’t use for the first half year—and we load up on goods that don’t nourish mom or baby.

There was nothing worse than not knowing what to do—or not having solutions on hand that would enhance her well-being during an emergency—in the first few months of my daughter’s life. From a cold to colic and spider bites, I found myself rushing to gather natural remedies that would have benefited us immediately (in addition to skin on skin & using breast milk), but aren’t commonly sold in stores.

Below are my must-haves for a non-toxic baby (and toddler) first aid kit.

COLD & FLU

SKIN
(ABRASIONS, ALL-PURPOSE + BITE RELIEF)

DIGESTION + COLIC

TEETHING

HOMEOPATHIC remedies

I keep a handful of remedies in my first aid kit. Since they are used for a wide range of symptoms, keeping a “guide” to reference in your first aid kit will help with prescribing & dosing.

Apis, Arnica, Arsenicum Album, Aconite, Allium Cepa, Bryonia, Belladonna, Calendula, Cocculus, Colocynthis, Chamomilla, Gelsemium, Hypericum, Hepar Sulph, Ignatia, Nux Vomica, Staphysagria, Thuja, Pulsatilla, Rhus Tox.

Remedies are commonly sold at health food stores (like WholeFoods & local shops) and can also be purchased through Boiron’s Amazon Shop.
